Danielle Muir is a BFA major in Digital Art with a minor in Anthropology. She is passionate about interdisciplinary studies between the arts and sciences. Danielle has had several high-impact experiences in addition to procuring the role of President to Kappa Pi, International Art Honors Society, and simultaneously, Vice President and Co-Founder of ArtSci Union.
In the Summer of 2021, she completed an internship with AdventureVue, a gamified marketing company. AdventureVue's goals include garnering the interest of customers by installing augmented reality and escape-room puzzles in the lobbies and storefronts of businesses. The puzzles further immerse patrons with interactive stories that players follow along with via apps with chat or text messages for clues. Danielle participated in the internship by designing miniature electronic game stations, creating prototypes of the designs (with a CNC machine, lasercutter, or 3D printer), and programming them.
Another high impact experience that influences her academic drive is a recent collaboration between design and biology students to develop an electronic device that detects the clarity of water using infrared. Students of both classes were divided into teams and each team developed their own design, as well as presenting each of their designs at the Scholar Symposium. She presented an additional individual art project at the Symposium that creatively displayed her understanding of dying cloth with cyanotype ink and careful toning chemistry.
She enjoys learning about User Experience Research, which studies how people understand and communicate with technology.
"I like to think of myself as a 'Renaissance Woman' like polymath, Leonardo da Vinci, because of my interest in studying multitudes of subjects. I'm unique as an artist because I like to create synergy between art, math, and science."
